Choose a useful source.
An old customer invoice can provide your usual business details and service descriptions. A supplier invoice is different: it may describe costs you pay rather than prices you charge. Identify that role in the review dialog before applying anything.
PDF, DOCX, text and JPG/PNG/WebP files are read in your browser. Originals are not uploaded to Beside or an external AI service. The reviewed fields are sent to Beside when creating a PDF and stored when you save or share.
Decide what still applies.
Select Same customer only when the old customer details belong on the new proposal. Different customer clears those details. Keep existing draft values by default, and use replacement controls only when you intend to overwrite them.
Check descriptions and units as well as prices. The tool does not invent missing tax treatment, mark up supplier costs, convert currency or fill a price difference with an adjustment row.
Four old visits become six new visits.
The old invoice lists four cleaning visits at $120: $480. The new job needs six visits at $130. Change both inputs; the new quote is $780 before tax or discounts. Confirm the property, frequency and services, then choose a fresh validity date.
If you request a 25% deposit, that is a proposed $195 payment term. The quote remains $780, and no payment is recorded.
Know what starts fresh.
The destination has a new number and dates, its own approval record, and Request customer signature turned off. Source signatures, paid stamps, receipts and old approval state never become state on the new quote.
For an owned Beside invoice, use Create quote in its history. The tools transfer selected structured data directly, then open a new editable draft. Repeated handoffs reopen the same destination draft rather than creating duplicates.
